Leadership Hardee

Established in 2008, Leadership Hardee is the premier leadership development program in Hardee County, designed to educate, inspire, and connect current and emerging leaders. With more than 100 alumni, the program continues to develop individuals who are committed to making a lasting impact in our community.

Leadership Hardee provides participants with an in-depth look at the people, industries, organizations, and issues that shape Hardee County. Through immersive experiences, behind-the-scenes tours, and meaningful discussions with local leaders, participants gain a deeper understanding of our community while building relationships that last well beyond graduation.

A critical factor in participant selection is identifying individuals who demonstrate leadership potential, are actively engaged in the community, and are committed to using the knowledge and relationships gained through the program to benefit Hardee County. It is not uncommon for applicants to apply more than once before being selected.

Leadership Days

Participants take part in nine comprehensive Leadership Days throughout the program year, each highlighting a different aspect of Hardee County, including:

• Local Government & Infrastructure
• Law Enforcement & Public Safety
• Tourism & Economic Development
• Community Engagement

Program Purpose

The purpose of Leadership Hardee is to:

• Identify and cultivate current and emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds.
• Develop participants' leadership skills and encourage active civic involvement.
• Provide firsthand exposure to the opportunities and challenges facing Hardee County.
• Foster a deeper understanding of effective leadership in today's communities.
• Build lasting relationships among participants and community leaders.
• Inspire graduates to become lifelong advocates and ambassadors for Hardee County.

Apply for Leadership Hardee Class of 2027–2028

Applications for the Leadership Hardee Class of 2027–2028 will be available in Spring 2027. We encourage individuals who are passionate about serving their community, growing as leaders, and building meaningful connections to apply.
